They serve customers throughout Nova Scotia’s south shore and communities across the province by providing high-quality marine products, parts, and services. Though a tight-knit team, they sell major brands including Bennington®, Yamaha®, Suzuki®, Mercury®, and the White River Marine Group™ line of boats. Their business includes boat and powersports sales, service, and an on-site parts department, they are the ultimate go-to destination in Atlantic Canada, known for their community focus and customer-first service approach.

Our Work Together

I began working with Shore Cycle & Marine in March 2023, initially supporting Owner Justin Wiens with strategic planning for the launch of a new distribution company, Coastal Distribution. As the business prepared to move into a new 40,000 sq. ft. facility, my role shifted in Fall 2023 to Operations Manager at Shore Cycle & Marine, helping build out internal systems and team capacity for this significant transition.

Key contributions during this time included:

• Operational Foundations: Facilitated the development of procedural manuals for fire, health & safety; collaborated on the employee manual; took on Human Resources responsibilities including key hires (managers, technicians, and sales team).

• Leadership Transition: Recruited and onboarded my own replacement for the Operations role, allowing me to shift focus to new ventures.

• Strategic Growth Initiatives: Assumed a leadership role in launching and building Coastal Distribution, a wholesale distributor for marine boat lines and products. This included dealer outreach and partnership building, sourcing government grants, pricing strategy, coordinating with service teams boat rigging and inspections, and overseeing logistics for shipments.

I led Coastal Distribution’s participation in major boat shows, including the Annapolis Powerboat Show in Maryland, the Toronto Boat Show (Jan 2025), and shows in Halifax, Moncton, and Montreal — introducing the Coastal-Vokey boat line to new markets.

In parallel, I played a lead role in launching Dam Docks, a new venture specializing in modular, fully welded aluminum dock systems designed and built in Nova Scotia. From the February 2024 Halifax Boat Show launch, I managed sales outreach, customer engagement, quoting, logistics, backend systems (parts SKUs, ordering, invoicing), and helped expand customer sales throughout Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Quebec over two summers.

Beyond these operational and strategic contributions, I also serve as a Board Member of the Nova Scotia Boat Builders Association (NSBA), connecting broader industry insights with the company’s ambitions.
