Global Startups (formerly LatAm Startups)

Global Startups (formerly LatAm Startups) is a Toronto-based non-profit accelerator and designated sponsor for Canada’s Startup Visa Program. It supports international technology startups and immigrant entrepreneurs by providing a pathway to Canadian permanent residency, along with mentorship, resources, and access to investor and talent networks. While originally focused on Latin American entrepreneurs, the program has expanded to serve companies from Africa, the Middle East, and Asia — helping high-growth startups establish themselves in the Canadian and U.S. markets.

Our Work Together

I collaborated with Global Startups in 2021-2022 by delivering several workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions with founders and leadership teams. My role focused on helping these international entrepreneurs understand and navigate the Canadian and U.S. markets, bridging the cultural and business practice gaps, and providing best practices for setting up in North America. The CEO, Miryam Lazarte, valued the practical insights and market knowledge I brought to their cohort companies, particularly in preparing them for growth and investor readiness.
